How to Get from Corfu Airport to Your Hotel (Taxi, Bus, Car Hire & Local Tips)
Landing in Corfu soon and wondering how to get from the airport to your hotel?
Don’t worry — it’s easier than you think.
As someone who has lived on the island and knows Corfu like a local, I’ve put together this simple, stress-free guide to help you choose the best airport transfer option for your trip, budget and location.
Whether you’re heading to Sidari, Gouvia, Moraitika, Kassiopi or Corfu Old Town, here’s exactly what to expect.
✈️ Where is Corfu Airport?
Corfu International Airport (CFU) — also called Ioannis Kapodistrias Airport — is located just:
5 minutes from Corfu Old Town
15–20 minutes from Gouvia
30 minutes from Ipsos & Dassia
40–60 minutes from Sidari or Kassiopi
35–45 minutes from Messonghi & Moraitika
It’s small, friendly, and very easy to navigate — but transfers can get busy in summer, so planning ahead helps a lot.
🚖 Option 1 — Taxi (Fastest & Easiest)
Best for: families, luggage, late-night arrivals, convenience
Taxis are waiting directly outside arrivals and are the quickest way to reach your hotel.
Typical prices (approx.)
Corfu Town: €25
Gouvia: €30
Ipsos/Dassia: €40
Moraitika/Messonghi: €60
Sidari/Kassiopi: €75
Pros
✔ Door to door
✔ No waiting
✔ Great with bags
✔ 24/7
Cons
✖ More expensive than bus
Local tip
If you’re arriving July–September, pre-book a transfer or taxi to avoid long waits.

Corfu’s blue buses run from the airport to Corfu Town regularly.

Price
Around €2–3 per person
Pros
✔ Very cheap
✔ Runs frequently
✔ Great if staying near town
Cons
✖ Can be crowded
✖ Not ideal with suitcases
✖ Limited for remote areas
From Corfu Town, you’ll need to change to green buses for resorts like Sidari or Moraitika.
🚗 Option 3 — Car Hire (Best for Exploring)
Best for: couples, families, full-island exploring
Honestly? If you’re staying more than 3–4 days, renting a car is my top recommendation.
Corfu is full of hidden beaches, mountain villages, and secret coves you simply can’t reach easily by bus.
Having your own car gives you total freedom.
Pros
✔ Explore the whole island
✔ Visit quiet beaches
✔ Easier than buses
✔ Often cheaper than multiple taxis
Cons
✖ Parking in Old Town can be tricky

(Local rentals usually work out cheaper than airport desks.)
🚐 Option 4 — Pre-Booked Transfers
Best for: groups, late arrivals, stress-free travel
Private transfers are like taxis but pre-arranged. Your driver meets you with your name sign.
Great if:
travelling with kids
arriving late
lots of luggage
just want zero hassle
Personally, I always pre-book when landing at night.
💛 My Local Recommendation
If you’re not sure what to choose:
1–3 nights → taxi
4+ nights → rent a car
Old Town only → bus
family or late arrival → private transfer
Simple.
