Corfu City Blue Buses: Routes, Tickets, Timetables & Airport/Port Bus

Corfu’s Blue Buses are the city buses that cover Corfu Town and nearby suburbs. They are one of the most useful and budget-friendly ways to get between the airport, San Rocco, the port, the intercity bus station and nearby local areas such as Kanoni, Benitses and Dassia/Ipsos.

Blue vs Green buses: what’s the difference?

Blue Buses

Corfu Town and nearby suburbs. These are the city buses and are the main option for short local routes, airport/town/port links and some close coastal or suburban corridors.

Green Buses

Longer island routes to villages and resorts further away. If you are going around the island rather than around town, you will usually need Green Buses.

The official city operator currently lists routes including Kanoni, Benitses, Dassia/Ipsos, Afra, Achilleion, Pelekas, Kanalia/Kompitsi, Potamos/ Evropouloi and the port.

Line 15: the must-know airport and port bus

If you only remember one Blue Bus route, make it Line 15. It connects the airport with the intercity (Green) bus station, San Rocco Square and the port. It is the key bus for airport arrivals, airport-to-port transfers, and changing from the city buses to the longer-distance Green Buses.

What the official airport page says

Line 15 runs airport → KTEL bus station → San Rocco → port, and it also runs in reverse from the port back to the airport.

What the official port page adds

The port is not just a Line 15 stop. The official port page says four bus lines serve the port area, including Line 15 and 2b.

Buying tickets, smart tickets and where to check balance

The official tickets page explains that the Blue Buses now use smart tickets and smart cards. It says you can check remaining journeys or days by entering your serial number or scanning your smart card/ticket online.

Available ticket types

The operator says there are two main types: non-personalised tickets/cards for full-fare travel packages, and personalised cards for individual purchases, reduced fares and time-duration packages such as 30-day cards.

Reduced fares

The tickets page says reduced-fare categories such as students and large-family passengers must use a personalised BUS CARD.

Main hubs and where to board

San Rocco Square

The main city-bus hub for many routes and the easiest place to reset if you are not sure where to start.

Important departure area for some routes including Benitses and Achilleion corridors.

KTEL / Intercity station

Useful for changing from Blue Buses to Green Buses for onward island travel.
