Afionas and Porto Timoni are two of the most beautiful places in north-west Corfu. Afionas is a traditional hilltop village with whitewashed houses, narrow lanes, sea-view restaurants and some of the best sunset views on the island. Below it, reached by a steep walking path or by boat, is Porto Timoni — Corfu’s famous double beach.

This is one of the most photographed places in Corfu, and for good reason. From above, Porto Timoni looks almost unreal: two small beaches sitting back-to-back, separated by a narrow strip of land, with turquoise water on both sides and green hills around them.
