Corfu in October: What’s Still Open and Is It Worth Visiting?
Thinking about visiting Corfu in October? There is plenty to enjoy: mornings exploring the Old Town, long lunches, coastal views and the possibility of a swim when the weather allows.
October can be a lovely month for a Corfu holiday, especially if you enjoy sightseeing, food and a flexible itinerary. Your exact dates and choice of accommodation matter, though. A stay at the beginning of the month can feel quite different from a late-October half-term break.
Here is what to know about Corfu in October 2026, including the weather, seasonal opening dates, where to stay and how to make the most of an autumn visit.
Information checked: 30 September 2026.
Does Corfu close in October?
There is no single closing date for the whole island. Hotels, attractions, restaurants and excursion operators have their own seasons, and individual facilities may follow different schedules.
For an October holiday, the most useful question is what will be available around your accommodation during your actual stay.
Before booking, check your hotel’s facilities, a few nearby places to eat and your transport options. This is particularly helpful for holidays towards the end of the month.
What is the weather like in Corfu in October?
According to Weather2Travel’s long-term climate averages, October in Corfu Town typically brings:
Average daytime highs around 22°C.
Average night-time lows around 13°C.
Average sea temperatures around 22°C.
Around 10 days with some rainfall during the month.
These figures are climate averages, rather than a forecast for October 2026.
Pack for warm afternoons, cooler evenings and the possibility of wet weather. For travellers prioritising warmth, we would favour the earlier part of October. For a later trip, give museums, food and sightseeing a bigger role in your plans.

What is still open in Corfu in October 2026?
Corfu Town and museums
For an October trip built around culture, cafés and exploring on foot, Corfu Town would be our first choice.
You can plan a day around the Liston, Old Town streets and a museum, with time for lunch between stops.
The Museum of Asian Art currently publishes daily opening hours of 08:00–20:00 through 31 October. Its visitor information also lists 28 October as a free-admission day.
Check the museum’s current opening information before visiting in case of temporary changes.

Aqualand Water Park
If Aqualand is a big reason for your holiday, check the October arrangements before booking.
At the time of writing, the Aqualand Water Park website advertises a 4 October closing date.
Separately, Aqualand Resort lists partial waterpark operation from 5–15 October 2026.
These notices do not confirm that ordinary day tickets or all rides will be available throughout that later period. Contact the operator and ask about your exact date, which rides will operate and whether access is for resort guests, day visitors or both.
Hotels and apartments
Check that both the accommodation and the facilities you want will operate throughout your stay.
An available room does not necessarily mean every pool, restaurant, children’s activity or entertainment programme will be running.
If swimming is a priority, ask whether the pool is heated and whether heating is included in your booking.
Restaurants and beach businesses
Check individual opening dates, particularly if you are hoping to visit a favourite taverna, beach bar or watersports provider.
For a late-season stay, accommodation within walking distance of confirmed dining options can make your holiday much easier.
A beach being accessible also does not confirm that sunbeds, cafés or other facilities will be operating.
Boat trips and excursions
Check the operator’s calendar for your exact date, pickup location and cancellation terms.
For an October boat trip, keep your itinerary flexible. Sea conditions can affect the programme, and it helps to have another day available if the operator needs to rearrange your sailing.

Can you still swim in Corfu in October?
Some visitors will find the sea comfortable enough for swimming, with the published monthly average around 22°C.
Personal comfort varies, and conditions at your chosen beach matter more than the monthly average. Keep swimming plans flexible, follow local warnings and avoid entering rough water.
Check beach facilities separately, including whether lifeguard cover is available.
Where should you stay in Corfu in October?
For a first autumn visit, we would start with Corfu Town.
Its concentration of sightseeing and indoor options makes it a practical choice when you want to adapt your plans to the weather.
For a north-coast holiday, include Acharavi in your research and compare each property’s location with shops, restaurants and bus stops.
If you already love Kassiopi, Roda, Sidari or another coastal resort, check what will be operating around your chosen accommodation during your stay.
A useful booking question is: “If it rains tomorrow and we decide to stay nearby, will we still enjoy being here?”
Comfortable accommodation, places to eat and convenient transport make that much easier.
